There will be a media tour of the facility at 9 AM on Tuesday, prior to the public opening, with Shelby available for an interview with media representatives in attendance. Shari FORIMMEDIATE RELEASE September 21, 2020 County Contact: Miranda Bowersox MMcafee-Bowersox@ButteCounty.net 530.552.3320 LOCAL ASSISTANCE CENTER OPENING SEPTEMBER 22, 2020 FOR RESIDENTS IMPACTED BY THE NORTH COMPLEX WEST ZONE FIRE OROVILLE, CA – A Local Assistance Center (LAC) is a place for residents to connect with the resources needed to recover and rebuild. Local and Stateagencies along with community organizations will assemble to answer questions about disaster assistance. The Butte County LAC will open at 10AM on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at the Feather River Parks and Recreation Academy located at 1875 Feather River Blvd. LAC hours will be Monday-Friday 10AM-6PM and Saturday 10AM-4PM. Media representatives are invited to join us for a tour of the Local Assistance Center prior to opening. What: Local Assistance Center (LAC) Media Tour When: Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at 9AM Sharp Where: Feather River Parks and Recreation Gymnastics Academy 1875 Feather River Blvd. Oroville Residents are encouraged register with FEMA for federal disaster assistance by visiting DisasterAssistance.gov, downloading the FEMA mobile app, or by calling 800-621-FEMA (3362). Representatives from thefollowing County, State and Non-Profit agencies will be available at the LAC to assist residents with accessing information about homeowner’s insurance, steps to rebuild, how to identify personal items, community and social services, and getting new documents that may have burned in the fire, among other resources.
