Subject: Update on North Complex Fire -- Evacuation Orders and Warnings for this evening
Evening (it's not exactly good).
Fire Update
This evening the jumped the containment lines around the north side of Bucks Lake.
We have issued Evacuation Orders for all of Concow, Yankee Hill, Pulga, and Big Bend
areas.
Evacuation Warnings are being issued for all of Magalia and Paradise.
Due to the current PSPS power outages and the fact that Comcast's battery ran out,
Sheriff's deputies are having to go door to door to the areas under Evacuation Orders in
order to ensure the communities safety.
Winds are expected to continue through tomorrow afternoon, so both fire and law
enforcement feel that this level of evacuation assistance is warranted.
Care and Shelter
We are directing all evacuated individuals to the Non-Congregate Sheltering Hotline
which is fully staffed to assist with hotel accommodations.
Small animals will have to shelter with their owners until tomorrow when we can open
up a new small animal shelter. A new small animal shelter is required due do the
existence of kennel cough in the two other small animal shelters.
Large animals are going to be directed to park outside of Camelot along Clark Rd until
7:30 am tomorrow. Unfortunately, we do not accept large animals after dark for safety
purposes.
We will have further updates at our 9:00 am EOC Briefing call.
