Good Morning all,
Providers of Employer Group Health plans are required to send out the attached Medicare Part D
Notice to all employees enrolled in one of their medical plans each year.
Why is this important? Medicare allows those who have coverage under an Employers group plan to
waive enrollment during the initial Medicare enrollment period. Yet, while waiving Medicare they
may be required to give proof of creditable prescription drug coverage. The attached notice is that
proof. Medicare eligible employees and or their dependents should keep a copy of this notice for
their records. This proof may not be required until one goes to enroll in Medicare, and at that point
the individual may even be required to provide each yearly notice beyond Medicare eligibility.
