On the north end, the fire remains active east of highway 70. The weather today will be favorable allowing for water and retardant drops. CalFire continues to work on the contingency and secondary lines. The weather is expected to remain favorable until later in the week when a storm front moves through. The weather will become cooler and more humid by next weekend. There is a likelihood of precipitation. Wind is expected to increase when the weather system moves in. th USFS reported that 1 lane of highway 70 may be opened at noon tomorrow, October 5. They are coordinating with the Butte County Sheriff Office and the Plumas County Sheriff Office. Discussions and coordination continues on areas under orders or warning. There are 558 individuals in non-congregate shelter in 274 rooms. Most of the rooms are out of the county. There is a focus to assist fire survivors. AmeriCorps will be helping with the transition. The hotline received 2,583 calls. Yesterday, the hotline received 143 calls. The Local Assistance Center remains active. There were over 1,800 households assisted. There are 397 animals being sheltered. A focus is being made on reunification. All of the Parvo infected dogs are doing well. There are no new cases. Public Works is tracking the storm that is due to arrive next weekend to determine if debris flow warning would be triggered. The debris flow warning could be applicable for the North Complex and Camp Fire burn areas. Public Works is coordinating with DTSC and Environmental Health to develop an Alternative Program. The dumpster in Forbestown is being removed tomorrow. The dumpster is full and is unfortunately includes unacceptable items. The dumpster in Berry Creek will remain in place. It is operating well. CalFire has placed information boards in Berry Creek and Feather Falls. The EOC is in Operational Period 14 and will operate remotely today. Unless the situation changes or new information comes forward, there will not be an evening report. If you have any questions please let me know.
