Date:Monday, October 5, 2020 10:40:36 AM Good Morning Board, th The following is the October 5 morning report for the North Complex Fire. We are in Operational Period 14 that will run until 8PM on Friday. There has not been any significant changes to the fire. On the north end, the fire remains active east of highway 70. There was a slight increase to the acres yesterday. But work on containment is proceeding along. They expect to increase the percent containment today. The weather today will be favorable allowing for water and retardant drops. By mid-week, the weather will become cooler and more humid. This will help with controlling the fire. There is a likelihood of precipitation this weekend. Wind is expected to increase when the weather system moves in. The fire crews are prepping for the changed weather conditions. Highway 70 remains closed at Deadwood Road. Oro-Quincy Highway at Lake Madrone to the Butte County line is only open to residents. The number of people in shelters is continuing to decline. There are 522 individuals in non- congregate shelters in 248 rooms. Most of the rooms are out of the county. Efforts are being made to relocate those being sheltered to Butte County. The hotline remains busy. Yesterday they received 132 calls bringing the total to 2,706 calls. The Local Assistance Center plans to close on Friday. There are 411 animals being sheltered. A focus is being made on reunification. All of the Parvo infected dogs are doing well. There are no new cases. There is one dog that may have distemper. The dog is being evaluated at UC Davis. Public Works continues to focus on guardrails, tree removal and drainage. Public Works has a contractor beginning work on Phase 1 removal. They also have a contractor coordinating with PG&E on their project to put lines underground. The contractor is reviewing PG&E’s compliance with county rules. The EOC is in Operational Period 14 and will operate remotely today. We are entering the transition phase from EOC to DROC. The structure of the DROC is ramping up. The EOC will remain active until all of the people and animals no longer require shelter. Unless the situation changes or new information comes forward, there will not be an evening report. If you have any questions please let me know. Have a great day Take care Paul Paul Gosselin, Director Department of Water and Resource Conservation 308 Nelson Ave Oroville, CA 95965 530-552-3590 office
