FIRE UPDATE (USFS): No new updates from USFS today. Info from USFS yesterday indicate they are still making progress on the fire – but there is still some active fire near Hwy 70. PG&E Current PSPS event in play right now. Power was de-energized late last night and early this morning. 10,259 customers in Butte impacted. Anticipate an all clear Friday morning…and will begin patrolling the lines and restoring power. 4 CRC’s are open today, 8:00am to 10:00pm: Forest Ranch (American Veterans Store, 15477 Forest Ranch Way), Magalia (Magalia Pines Baptist Church, 14098 Skyway), Paradise (Lutheran Church, 780 Luther Dr.); and Oroville (Bird St. School, 1421 Bird St.) have been constructed in Butte County. The CRCs will provide: snacks, waters, ADA restrooms, charging stations, Wi-Fi services. Another PSPS event likely coming this weekend, starting at some point on Sunday, that could last through Tuesday. CARE AND SHELTER: There are 15 animals still being sheltered. o Reunification efforts continue. Animals that go unclaimed will be spade, neutered and put up for adoption. o 10/23 is the slated closure date of animal shelter. There are 355 individuals housed in 200 hotel/rooms throughout N. Cal. Work continues to get them to a longer term solution. o Still working on getting an extension for non-congregate shelters…as well as direct housing assistance. Should know more very soon on these topics. Calls – over 4,359 calls received thus far. Calls continue to be around 100/day. Misc. Items: We continue to work in a 2 week operational period which began last Friday evening – running through 8:00pm Friday 10/23. We continue to need EOC support for Care and Shelter. We will have briefings two days/week (on Tuesday and Thursday). Considering keeping the EOC open for one more week, and then transitioning fully to recovery…will make that determination tomorrow/Friday. Town Hall meeting today regarding recovery at the South Oroville Community Center from 4:00 – 6:00. If there are any questions – please don’t hesitate to reach out.
