Subject:Tuesday 9/22 EOC update

Good morning all –
Some highlights from this morning’s briefing:
Fire Activity
West side of the fire continues to hold well.
The Ponderosa Res and Forbestown area CONTINUE to be a big challenge. Trying to get these
zones under control before the next wind event (which is slated to come in Friday night and
go into Saturday). They do have contingency lines established fairly far out – however, they’d
like to not have to use these lines and get control of this area closer to the drainages.
We are watching this event coming in Friday night very closely. If the fire is still active late
Friday…and the wind event still slated to come in…more evacuation orders MAY need to take
place in the southern zones of this event. Again – we will be watching this closely….too early
to predict at this time.
Care/Shelter
LAC opening up today at 10:00am.
Animal Control numbers
200 large animals
111 small animals at Del oror
104 small animals at Cal Oaks
Individuals sheltered in hotels at this time: 1,592
724 calls into shelter hotline

EOC Updates
In operational period 10. This plan will be for 7 days, through next Monday.
We are on day 14 of this event…staffing the EOC is becoming more of a challenge as the event
goes on.
Working on moving the EOC to Oroville which will be phased in starting Friday and over this
coming weekend.
