Good evening Board Members,
Today has been a busy day for Fire, focusing on the Forbestown area. The fire that jumped the line
this morning is being stubborn, hindering progress on securing the line. The area near Forbestown is
currently under an evacuation warning, and there’s a possibility that it could turn into an order. This
would happen after midnight, when the winds shift. If they shift in a particular way, the fire could
run in the drainage toward Forbestown, and the order would be issued.
The EOC has been preparing for this possibility, and we’re ready to go. It’s quiet in the EOC now, so
we changed to virtual status to allow staff to go home and refresh and be ready to return to the EOC
for a busy overnight if the order is given.
