Fire Activity 84,580 acres…not much growth. 73% containment. 2,248 destroyed structures, 112 damaged. Continue to make very good progress in the southern portion of the fire (the Ponderosa Res and Forbestown area)…area continues to hold very well. Continue to look for hot spots in areas. In the northern areas of the fire (in USFS areas) – there are a couple hot areas still active (up by Bucks Lake and the eastern portion of the fire). With the north winds coming Saturday night – fire teams will be monitoring these northern sections VERY closely especially over this weekend with the expected winds. Wind event – still slated to come in Saturday night now with 30 – 50 MPH gusts in the drainage areas…15-20 MPH in other areas. Other concerns are just new starts that could pop up in this wind event. If things hold this weekend – Team 4 will transition out Tuesday morning. Damage assessment teams are around 90% done. Care/Shelter LAC – 294 households yesterday with 194 new applications submitted. In total - 712 households have come through and 564 applications submitted. Individuals sheltered in hotels continues to increase: 1,833…777 rooms. Animal Control numbers (460 total animals): 228 large animals; 113 small animals at Del Oro; 119 small animals at Cal Oaks. 9 new baby German Shepherds have arrived last night/today. Many calls coming into the shelter hotline 1134 to date (having to do with shelter questions and questions on the LAC). PW Support repopulation efforts. Guardrail contractor will begin work first thing Monday morning. Landfill will be able to received deceased animals. Prepping necessary signals for the PSPS event Saturday night. PG&E – PSPS Update Again - expecting high winds this weekend – with a PSPS event tentatively slated to start late Saturday evening…with re-energization starting back Monday). 18,742 potential customers in Butte County impacted (at this point – obviously subject to change up until de-energization starts). 5 CRC’s will be set up in Butte – providing snacks, water, charging, washing stations: Bangor Community Center 7500 Oro Bangor Highway Bangor, 95914 American Veterans Store 15474 Forest Ranch Way Forest Ranch, Butte, 95942 Magalia Pines Baptist Church 14098 Skyway Rd Magalia, 95954 Southside Oroville Community Center 2959 Lower Wyandotte Rd Oroville, 95966 Craig Memorial Congregational Church 5665 Scottwood Rd Paradise, 95969 Medical baseline customers (64 in Oroville, 223 in Paradise, 1482 in in the unincorporated areas) have been notified by PG&E. Those on our SNAP list will be contacted today. EOC Updates In operational period 10. This is a 7 day plan that runs through Monday. We are on day 17 of this event…staffing the EOC is becoming more of a challenge as the event goes on. Working on moving the EOC to Oroville hopefully Monday (after this weekend’s wind event).
