Media Statement:
Butte County Announces COVID-19 Death in Young Adult
Butte County Public Health (BCPH) sadly has to announce the first COVID-19 death to occur in
a young adult. BCPH expresses our sincere condolences to the family, friends and other loved
ones suffering this loss. The individual was in the 18-24 year old range and passed away while
in the hospital. This is the youngest member of our community to succumb to their COVID-19
infection. The total number of deaths in Butte County, due to COVID-19 is 44.
