BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. –Last week, after a decline in the Butte County COVID-19 case rate,
Butte County Public Health (BCPH) granted approval for two school waivers allowing for in-person
instruction. After a thorough review, an additional elementary school, Oroville Christian School, has
met the requirements and been granted approval in alignment with State guidance and standards.
All remaining school waiver applications are being reviewed and processed by BCPH staff.
Moving forward, if additional schools are granted approval, the status of their waiver application will
be posted on the Butte County COVID-19 School Reopening website:
www.buttecounty.net/ph/COVID19/schools. The public may view this website to learn which schools
are granted approval in the coming days and weeks.
