Good morning Board – here’s an update from the EOC Briefing this morning.
Fire update
West zone continues to look good…all lines are holding.
Continue to lose resources to other fires throughout the state
Still have a plan for Team 4 to transition out tomorrow – but this is subject to change
Concern remains in the USFS area/northern Section of the fire – CalFire has resources in
place near Hwy 70, just in case, to try to stop this from crossing Hwy 70 should it move
further west towards Hwy 70 (even though this is in the USFS responsibility area). The fire
has and continues to move towards Hwy 70.
Care and Shelter –
Animal Control currently has 501 animals housed
LAC has had 1,258 clients served
780 individuals currently in non-congregate shelters, 319 rooms
1,706 shelter calls have been received
Gridley Shelter/Expo was opened up for sheltering additional small animals (who have been
evacuated), should more spaced be needed…can house 100 animals at this time.
National Guard will be here today to help with animal care needs
PW –
All signals have been restored from the PSPS
Guard rail contractors started yesterday. It is estimated that we have 20,000 linear feet
damaged – and the contractors can do 1,000-2,000/day.
EOC Planning/Ops Period
Currently in operational period 11 – a 24 hour ops period
4:00pm planning meeting today to determine the next objectives and duration of the next
operational period
Safety – outdoor air quality poor again…which travels into our facilities as well.
PG&E – no update – all power was restored to Butte County as of 8:00pm last night.
I’ll be EOC Director again through 8:00am tomorrow morning. Please call if you have any questions.
