Good afternoon Board –
I wanted to give you all a heads up that Dr. Miller has signed a Local Health Emergency declaration,
and I will be signing a declaration of a Local Emergency, with regard to COVID-19. We will be
sending out a press release letter this afternoon regarding these actions – and will also be sending
out a supplemental agenda later this afternoon, that will include new Board items to consider on
Tuesday, to ratify these actions.
Please note – currently, there are still no confirmed cases in Butte County. With that said, there is a
tremendous amount of work being done to plan and prepare for this so the County is in the best
position possible to respond in case we start to see a spread of this in our County. By making these
declarations, it will get word out to the public that the County is taking appropriate measures to be
prepared, and will also provide us access to more resources.
