WHEREAS, In Fiscal Year 2019-20, the Fire Department applied for the Fire Prevention & Safety Grant Program
and received notice in Fiscal Year 20,20-21 the grant has been awarded in the amount of $682,464; and
WHEREAS, the grant is for two years and provides resources for inspection, prevention and, enforcement related
activities within the Butte County Fire Departments' jurisdiction; and
WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors needs, to take action to accept the grant; and
WHEREAS, staffing resources aire necessary to implement the program objectives of the grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Butte County Board of Supervisors hereby accepts the grant funds
and desire to enter into an agreement with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) dated
January 1, 2021, which will provide Fire Protection Services during the State fiscal year 2020-2021 thru 2022-2023 in
support of this grant.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Butte County Board of Supervisors and Chief Administrative
Officers be authorized to sign and execute said agreement on behalf of the County of Butte.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 101" day of November, 2020, by the
following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Connelly, Lucero, Ritter, Teeter, and Chair Lambert
