including Santa Rosa Junior College prior to moving to Butte County to attend California State Univers,ity, Chico; and
WHEREAS, Supervisor Lambert has been atrue entrepreneur during his time ioButte County, beginning with his
participation in State and national agricultural activities, competitions and leadership roles during his school years and
continuing with the opening of number of feed stores, a nationally renowned cattle business and branching out into
vva:|nu1s in recent years; and
WHEREAS, Steve isaleader inthe Hereford industry, serving as President ofthe American Hereford Association
and "crowned" the Breeder of the Year by the California, Nevada Hereford Association, just to highlight a few of his
accolades; and
WHEREAS, Supervisor Lambert began his career in politics serving on the Paradise Town Council from December
1, 1998 through August 14, 2002; serving as the Town Mayor from December 12, 2000 through August 14, 2002; and
WHEREAS, Supervisor Lambert was elected to the Butte County Board of Supervisors in 2008 and began serving
asthe District 4Supervisor nnJanuary 5,2009. During his tenure, Supervisor Lambert served asthe Board Chair five times;
and
WHEREAS, tbrnughVwthissan/iceontheButteComnty8mardmfSupervismrs,SupemjsorLamberChosservedmn
numerous boards, committees, and commissions; and
WHEREAS, Supervisor Lambert has led or been a part of key initiatives with long-term impactsVnButte County
and its residents, including but not limited to the County's updated General P,lan, creation of the Economic Development
Division, water policy, cannabis regulations, Lake Qrovii|e Project impacts, Camp Fine recovery and response, and vital
road and highway projects just toname afew; and
WHEREAS, Supervisor Lambert has, been, an unsung hero in many disasters,, working tirelessly behind the scenes
with no fanfare, whether assisting in animal rescue and care, walking the halls of Sacramento and Washington, D.C. to
obtain the resources and support our residents needed and deserved, or personally thanking and supporting volunteers,
residents, and staff when exhaustion, and frustration were setting inforthem; and
WHEREAS, Supervisor Lambert is a dedicated supporter of the agriculture industry through his involvement with
the Butte County Farm Bureau a,nd the Butte County Cattlemen's Association, and through policy adopted by the Butte
County Board of Supervisors that has safeguarded Butte County's water resources and valuable agricultural land; and
WHEREAS, moSupervisor has ever sported the Christmas suit better; and
WHEREAS, Supervisor Lambert ishard-working and hierd-p|a 'ng, and looks forward tmspending more time with
his family, which includes his two sons Nathan (wife Danielle) and: Clayton (wife Brittany), his daughter Meghan, and his
grandson Cooper.
WHEREAS, Clayton and Brittany better keep an eye on Grandpa and Cooper, as Grandpa is just a big kid himself
and we foresee many adventures ahead; and
WHEREAS, the County and its residents will be forever grateful for his tireless support and leadership.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors, on its own behalf and on behalf
of the residents of Butte County, wish to recognize Supervisor Steve Lambert for his dedication and service to the people
of Butte County.
