HomeMy WebLinkAbout20-169WHEREAS, the Butte Regional Interoperable Communication System (BRICS) entered into service on April 7, 2020
and has become an integral part of public safety communications; and
WHEREAS, BRICS was clesigned as a regiona I communications system in, order to provide reliable radio service on
a subscription basis to local government partners; and
WHEREAS, the Board nfSupervisors amdtheCnuntyufBu1teexpect toenter into subscription agreements with
a number of partner agencies who will be utilizing the BRICS radio service; and
WHEREAS, the County desires to provide separate fund accounting for BRICS activities; and
WHEREAS, Government Code section 25260 grants authority for the Board of Supervisors to establish an interest
bearing internal service fund which may be used for these purposes,; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED bythe Butte County Board of Supervisors as follows:
1. That the Auditor -Controller be authorized toestablish an interest bearing internal service fund 1V
receive all funds generated for BR|CSactivities.
That the Auditor -Controller be directed to transfer the $1j854262 cash balance resulting from
prefunding the radio system and improvements as well as funds collected for the replacement of radio
components that will be transferred from the Equipment Replacement Fund to the new fund.
That the County Administrative Officer, or designee, be directed to coordinate, monitor and
periodically report tothe Board onthe progress mfthis program.
