HomeMy WebLinkAbout20-172FROM THE BUTTE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE WHEREAS, after 26years ofdedicated public service, Deputy Scott KreUhewill beretiring omDecember 30,2020. During his career, his service to the citizens of Butte County and the Butte County Sheriffs Off ice has been exemplary; and WHEREAS, Deputy Kre|>e began his |avx enforcement career in 1984 when he was hired by the Bloomfield, NIVI Police Department as police officer. After working in New Mexico for 2 years, Deputy KweNe was hired by the Butte County Sheriffs Office as a Deputy Sheriff. Initially working in Corrections, Deputy Krelle soon transferred to Operations and patrol duties. He worked in the Chico and MagaUa areas and served as Field Training Ufficer(FTO). In 2003, he transferred to the Felony Investigations Unit where he worked in general crimes for just under 2 years. |n2Ol1,Deputy KreNetransferred tothe Marine Umitwhere heisstill assigned today; and WHEREAS, Deputy Kreiehas had auxiliary duties such asserving as aSher0f's Office Honor Guard member for 12 years and has assisted the Felony Investigations Unit as a certified composite sketch artist as well as being the originating operator of the Total Station for crime scene reconstruction. Deputy KreUehas excelled insupplemental duties within the Marine Unit, consisting ofbeing the originating operator of the Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) for underwater search and recovery operations, and a certified instructor for Boating Accident Investigations and Basic Inland Boat Officer Training. Deputy Kre]|e has served on the Board of Directors for the California State Boating Officers Association for the past 7 years. He was recently nominated by the California Division of Boating and Waterways for the California POST Excellence imTraining Award for Individual Achievement; and WHEREAS, Deputy KreUle has worked and assisted with several critical incidents during his career. Deputy Krelle was a responding patrol deputy to 2 tragic incidents; the 1997 murder of Deputy Randy Jennings, and the incident in2OO1 in which b. Larry Estes and Deputy Bill Hunter were murdered in |oskip, CA. Deputy KreUe also assisted with the near catastrophic failure of the OroviNa Darn's Emergency Spillway in 2017, the state's most deadliest and most destructive wildfire, the Camp Fire, in20l8 and most recently, the North Compilex fire in September 2020.
