Monitoring Report (DSSMR) Follow Up
Dear Mr. Blackett,
By letter datedNovember 17, 2020 you requestedthat STS Hydropower, LLC (STS) provide a
plan and schedule to return the Kanaka Hydroelectric Project (P-7242) to service. You also note
that as an alternative, STS could take the necessary actions to surrender the project.
STS has decided not to return the project to service and instead plans to surrender the license.
STS informed the FERC Division of Hydropower Administration (FERC DHAC) by letter dated
May 20, 2020 that it did not plan to return the project to service. In a response letter dated
December 3, 2020, FERC DHAC requested the STS submit a plan & schedule within 60 days
(by February 1, 2021) to surrender the license. STS is currently working to develop the requested
plan & schedule and will provide a copy of the filing to your office.
