Thank you. Miranda For Immediate Release December 18, 2020 Neal Road Recycling and Waste Facility (NRRWF) to Stop Accepting Treated Wood Waste on December 31, 2020 Due to changes in state law, the NRRWF will no longer accept treated wood waste (TWW) for disposal after December 31, 2020. The Department of Toxic Substance Control has determined that after Dec. 31, 2020, TWW(s) are required to be disposed of in a Class 1 hazardous waste landfill. Additionally, the material will now be subject to hazardous waste transportation rules. Examples of TWW include vineyard/tree stakes, railroad ties, treated fence posts, treated sill plates, landscape timbers, pilings, wooden guardrail posts and pressure treated decking products. Beginning January 1, 2021, staff will be conducting load checks, and loads containing TWW will documented and the TWW will be rejected.
