FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 26, 2021
Public Health Begins Vaccine Notification for Persons 75+
nd
BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. – Last Friday, January 22, Butte County Public Health (BCPH) started
the process of sending out email notification to persons age 75 years and older to inform
them about their COVID-19 vaccination eligibility. Due to the large number of residents in this
age category, BCPH is notifying groups of people at different times based on current vaccine
clinic capacity.
BCPH will continue to send out email notifications over the next few weeks. Residents in this
age group who have not received a notification yet should remain patient as they will receive
an email notification if they have previously registered.
After BCPH issued the first group of email notifications, they received nearly 130 undeliverable
emails returned. This was likely caused by emails entered incorrectly. Residents are asked to
double check the accuracy of their email address when completing the online notification
form.
Register to get a COVID Vaccination Notification
Residents can get information about the COVID vaccine and register to be notified when they
qualify to get the vaccination:
Register to get notified at the Butte County Public Health COVID-19 Vaccine page:
www.buttecounty.net/COVIDvaccine.
A valid email is required to receive a notification.
Persons who do not have access to the internet may contact the COVID call center
(552-3050) for assistance completing the form – however, an email is still required.
Persons who do not have an email address should get help from family, friends or
neighbors that may be able to receive an email on their behalf.
COVID Vaccine Data
th
As of Monday, January 25, BCPH has added vaccine information to the Butte County COVID
Dashboard to include vaccine dose allocation, receipt and administration. This information will
be updated once a week on Thursdays. Please note, the data for total doses administered will
likely have a delay of several days as this number does not include clinics happening in real
time. Due to this lag, doses administered may appear low compared to the total number of
doses allocated to Butte County.
When will the Vaccine be available to persons 65+?
While the vaccine is available for some groups in phase 1b, tier 1, due to vaccine supply and
distribution, the groups in this tier must be sub-prioritized. BCPH will keep the public informed
once the vaccine is available for persons 65 and older.
