Dear Mr. Blackett:
This letter presents for
installation of remote monitoring equipment at Round Valley Reservoir, which is part of
PG&E DeSabla-Centerville Hydroelectric Project, Federal Energy Regulatory
Commission (FERC) No. 803. This work will address Recommendation 3 (R-3) from the
2020 Part 12D safety inspection report, which supersedes Recommendation 5 (R-5) from
the first Part 12D safety inspection report for Round Valley Dam.
For reference, R-3 is copied below:
R-3: It is recommended that remote reservoir level monitoring be added to the project.
This is a carry-over recommendation of Recommendation R05 from the 2015 Part 12D
Report.
installation of
reservoir monitoring equipment, please find a project description (Enclosure 1), approved
for construction drawings and stability calculations (Enclosure 2), and a quality control and
inspection program (Enclosure 3) enclosed with this letter for FERC review.
The proposed construction activities are scheduled to begin as soon as weather permits in
the spring/summer of 2021 and are estimated to take 4 weeks.
PG&E is
schedule, design details, and any questions or concerns that may need to be addressed
prior to FERC authorization to proceed with the work.

As a result of the ongoing shelter-in-place orders issued by the State of California in
response to COVID-19 pandemic, nonessential PG&E staff are working remotely, and hard
copy filings are not possible at this time. If FERC requires a hard copy of the enclosed
documents, please contact the license coordinator identified below, and copies will be sent
after the shelter-in-place restrictions have been lifted and PG&E staff have returned to their
normal work locations.
