DearTamiRitter, Iamwritingtoyouasaconstituentwhocaresaboutthementalhealthandwellbeingofun- housedpersonsinButteCounty.IaskyoutojoinmeinsupportingtheWholePersonCare InnovationProjectascentraltoEverhartVillage,theexistingcollaborationbetweenButte CountyDepartmentsofEmploymentandSocialServices,ButteCountyBehavioralHealth (BCBH)andChicoHousingActionTeam(CHAT).EverhartVillageinChicoistobea shelterconsistingof15-20“tinyhouses”whichwouldprovideshelterandround-the-clock intensiveservicesforBCBHclientsunabletomaintainasafemilieuandsupporttheir recoveryandgeneralhealthandwellbeing. In2019,localadvocacygroupStakeholdersofButteCountyintroducedtheWholePerson CareconcepttotheButteCountyBehavioralHealthAdvisoryBoard.Itwasaproposalfor MentalHealthServicesAdministration(MHSA)Innovationfunding.ThecurrentInnovation Projectproposalmergesthesefreshandcommunity-drivenideaswiththeCHATwellnessand recoveryaspectofEverhartVillage.ThenewprogramwouldbestaffedbyPeerSupport SpecialistsworkingcloselywithEverhartVillagemanagementandBCBHcasemanagersand clinicalstaff.Theywouldprovidetheround-the-clocksupportandassistanceCHAToriginally envisioned.WholePersonCarewillengageresidentBCBHclientswitheducationand communityresourcestomaximizetheirrecovery,health,andwellnessthrough24-houron- callresponse. AgrowingPeerWorkforcemovementisalreadyemployedaroundthecountryinavarietyof humanservicessettings.PeerstrainedinEvidence-BasedPracticeshaveauniqueopportunity andcapacityformodelingwellnessandsharingrecoveryskillsessentialforbuildingresilience andestablishingandmaintainingrecovery. BCBHisnowplanningtheallocationofMHSAdollars.Iaskyouagaintojoinmeandother stakeholdersinsupportingWholePersonCarebymakingyourawarenessandsupportknown totheButteCountyBehavioralHealthAdvisoryBoardandyourfellowSupervisors.Thank youverymuch.
