In2019,localadvocacygroupStakeholdersofButteCountyintroducedtheWholePersonCareconceptto theButteCountyBehavioralHealthAdvisoryBoard.ItwasaproposalforMentalHealthServices Administration(MHSA)Innovationfunding.ThecurrentInnovationProjectproposalmergesthesefresh andcommunity-drivenideaswiththeCHATwellnessandrecoveryaspectofEverhartVillage.Thenew programwouldbestaffedbyPeerSupportSpecialistsworkingcloselywithEverhartVillagemanagement andBCBHcasemanagersandclinicalstaff.Theywouldprovidetheround-the-clocksupportandassistance CHAToriginallyenvisioned.WholePersonCarewillengageresidentBCBHclientswitheducationand communityresourcestomaximizetheirrecovery,health,andwellnessthrough24-houron-callresponse. AgrowingPeerWorkforcemovementisalreadyemployedaroundthecountryinavarietyofhuman servicessettings.PeerstrainedinEvidence-BasedPracticeshaveauniqueopportunityandcapacityfor modelingwellnessandsharingrecoveryskillsessentialforbuildingresilienceandestablishingand maintainingrecovery. BCBHisnowplanningtheallocationofMHSAdollars.Iaskyouagaintojoinmeandotherstakeholdersin supportingWholePersonCarebymakingyourawarenessandsupportknowntotheButteCounty BehavioralHealthAdvisoryBoardandyourfellowSupervisors.Thankyouverymuch.
