Box 770000 San Francisco, CA 94177-0001 Re: Lower Bucks Lake Dam Focused Spillway Assessment Report Dear Mr. Nimick: This is in response to a letter dated January 2, 2018, from Mr. David Ritzman that submitted a Focused Spillway Assessment Report for Lower Buck Lake Dam, part of the Bucks Creek Hydroelectric Project, FERC Project No. 619. We have reviewed the submittal and our comments are included in the Enclosure. Within 45 days from the date of this letter, please provide a response to our comments or submit a plan and schedule to address our comments. Box 942836 Sacramento, CA 94236-0001 Review Comments Enclosure Focused Spillway Assessment Report Lower Bucks Lake Dam, FERC Project No. 619 1.Section 5.2 of the Report contains several recommendations forimmediate, near-term and longer-term actions related to the spillway as well as some maintenance and operations concerns and additional monitoring or inspection requirements. As of the date of this letter, we have not yet received a status update or plan and schedule for completing these recommendations. Please submit a status update or plan and schedule for completing the recommendations. 2. Potential Failure Mode No. 7 is classified a Category III requiring additional information to classify. Please provide a plan and schedule for obtaining the additional information to classify PFM No. 7. 1 of 1
