Good afternoon-
As you know, we recently initiated work to update the General Plan in response to changes in State
law and the recent disasters. New legislation primarily impacts how we address safety (including
wildfires), environmental justice, and housing, so these three issue areas will be the primary focus of
the update. We are currently seeking input on stakeholders in the community to engage as we
prepare the update, particularly those with expertise or interest areas related to safety,
environmental justice, and housing, though we welcome any suggestions. If there are any individuals
or organizations you would like the General Plan Update (GPU) project team to reach out to
specifically, please let us know. Senior Planner, Mark Michella at MMichelena@buttecounty.net, is
the primary contact for the public on this project.
