The existing facility is designed as a 120’ monopole (monopine) with branching extending up to 125’. Associated equipment cabinets are located within a chain-link enclosure at the base of the pole. Existing antennas are mounted at a tip height of 118’-11.5” and the proposed tip height of the antennas will remain unchanged. Proposed antennas will be placed in the same location as existing antennas, fully within the monopine branch radius, and will either be painted or wrapped in 3M RF transparent film, colored to match the existing monopine. This facility was originally approved by the Butte County Planning Commission on January 26th, 2017 through UP16-0005. The proposed site consists of the following: •Removing and replacing six (6) antennas w/ six (6) new antennas •Removing and replacing six (6) remote radio units w/ three (3) new remote radio units •Removal of twelve (12) remote radio units @ equipment location •Installation of three (3) remote radio units @ antenna location •Installation of two (2) raycaps (one (1) @ antenna location and one (1) @ existing equipment location) The existing equipment area will remain unchanged, with approximately 425 square feet for associated equipment cabinets. In efforts to meet customer demands, Verizon Wireless is proposing to upgrade the facility in a manner that will not create conditions or situations that may be objectionable, detrimental or incompatible with the surrounding land uses. The facility continues to only require periodic maintenance, which equates to approximately one trip per month. Furthermore, Verizon will operate in full compliance with all local, state and federal regulations including the Telecommunications Act of 1996. Verizon Wireless is a registered public utility, licensed and regulated by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Verizon Wireless technology does not interfere with any other forms of private or public communications systems. Verizon Wireless respectfully requests approval to modify this telecommunications facility to meet the growing demands of today and tomorrow. The proposed modification meets the design guidelines of an “Eligible Facilities Request” as defined in Section 6409(a) of the Middle-Class Tax Relief and Job Creation Act of 2012.
