FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 29, 2021
Butte County Public Health Opens Vaccinations to Persons 16+ for
Individuals who Live or Work in Butte County
BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. – Butte County Public Health (BCPH) is expanding COVID-19 vaccine
eligibility to persons 16+ who live or work in Butte County. This change is effective
immediately for all community and hospital vaccination clinics.
Residents 18 years and older are eligible for the Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson
vaccine. Please keep in mind, allocations of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine are limited at this
time and may not be available.
Residents ages 16 and 17 are eligible for the Pfizer vaccine and must be accompanied by a
parent or caregiver and have proof of age at time of appointment. At this time, the Pfizer
vaccine is only available for this age group at the Oroville Community Vaccination Clinic or the
Chico Hospital Vaccination Clinic.
To book a vaccination and view a complete list of COVID-19 Community and Hospital
Vaccination Clinics, please visit the BCPH COVID-19 Vaccination website:
www.buttecounty.net/COVIDvaccine. Those without internet may call the Butte County COVID
Call Center for assistance: 552-3050.
Please note: residents who book a vaccination appointment through a community or hospital
vaccination clinic that utilizes the MyTurn, the State’s scheduling system, will need to check
the ’65-74’ age range option to get the scheduling process started. This is due to a current
limitation within the State’s online scheduling system. You will then be prompted to enter
your date of birth at which time you will enter your actual date of birth (the 65-74 age option
is only to get the process started, use your real date of birth after that point). Your date of
birth will be used to verify eligibility when you arrive at the vaccination clinic.
Residents who get vaccinated through a retail pharmacy will need to book directly through the
pharmacy. Retail pharmacies are part of the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program, which is
separate from the Butte County Community and Hospital Vaccination Clinics. Eligibility and
vaccine availability through the retail pharmacies may be different.
