County Reps,
We wanted to provide a brief summary of water transfers status to date, so you are
aware of these and address any questions you may have or from constituents.
Additionally, we have attached the related NODs.
GCID is working to put several water transfer programs in place for 2021. GCID may
idle up to 20,000 acres of crop land in 2021, which would make up to 60,000 acre-feet
of water available for transfer. Almost all of this water would be transferred to the
Santa Clara Valley Water District and the San Luis & Delta-Mendota Water Authority,
with a small portion being transferred to the Tehama-Colusa Canal Authority.
Further, GCID plans to transfer up to 10,000 acre-feet of water made available via
groundwater substitution and up to 12,000 acre-feet of Central Valley Project Water to
the Tehama-Colusa Canal Authority.
We have also noticed the NGOs requesting copies of environmental documentation
and the Tribes per state requirements.
If you have any questions, please contact Louis Jarvis ccd here or myself.
Thanks,
Thad.
