Status Update on 2017 Focused Spillway Assessment Recommendations
ENCLOSURE CONTAINS CUI//CEII – DO NOT RELEASE
Dear Mr. Blackett:
This letter presents Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s (PG&E) response to a Federal
Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) comment regarding a 2017 focused engineering
assessment of the spillway at Bucks Storage Dam, which is part of PG&E’s Bucks Creek
Hydroelectric Project, FERC No. 619. PG&E submitted a copy of the spillway assessment
report to your office on January 2, 2018, and received FERC’s comment on the report in a
letter dated March 2, 2021.
FERC’s letter requested that PG&E provide a plan and schedule to address the
recommendations presented in the spillway assessment report. In response to FERC’s
request, PG&E has prepared a table listing the recommendations along with a summary of
PG&E’s efforts to address the recommendations and PG&E’s plans and schedules to
address the items that have not yet been resolved. A copy of the table is enclosed with this
letter (Enclosure 1).
Should you have any technical questions concerning this matter, please contact PG&E’s
dam safety engineer, Mr. Ben Fontana, at (530) 762-9459. For general questions, please
contact PG&E’s license coordinator, Ms. Jamie Visinoni, at (530) 215-6676.
