Maintain fire lane free of obstructions. 2. Provide fire lane identification. 3. Provide address numbers/building ID visible from street. Exiting 4. Remove obstructions at exits,doors,aisles,corridor,stairways,etc. 5. Exit door to open without a key or any special knowledge/effort. 6. Provide sign over main door"This door to remain unlocked when occupied." 7. Repair non-operable exit door hardware. 8. Remove obstructions from doors that are required to be closed. 9. Remove locks and latches from doors with panic hardware. 10. Remove storage from unprotected stairway. 11. Provide/maintain exit sign/emergency lighting. Fire Extinguishers 12. Have fire extinguisher(s)serviced and tagged. 13. Provide/mount fire extinguisher as indicated. 14. Provide clear access to fire extinguisher. 15. Post signage indicating fire extinguisher location. Fire Protection Equipment 16. Maintain, repair, paint, inspect and or/test sprinkler/standpipe/hydrant/FDC/PIV 17. Maintain 3ft. minimum clearance for access/use of fire appliances/equipment. 18.Secure all system control valves in open position. 19. Replace all damaged/painted/missing sprinkler heads/FDC caps. 20. Provide 5 year certification test for sprinkler/standpipe system. 21. Provide sprinkler coverage in unprotected area. 22. Provide spare sprinkler heads(min.6)and/or compatible wrench. 23. Hood and duct extinguishing system to be serviced and tagged every 6 mos. 24. Remove grease from hood,duct and filters. (KEEP CLEAN) Fire Alarm Systems 25. Maintain, repair, inspect,and/or test fire alarm system. 26. Provide/maintain operable smoke alarm in each dwelling unit. Fire Separation 27. Repair holes in required fire resistive construction. 28. Provide/repair self or automatic closing,fire rated assemblies. 29. Keep attic access and scuttle openings closed. Electrical 30. Discontinue use of extension cords. 31. Install permanent wiring for fixed and stationary appliances. 32. Provide cover plates for all junction boxes. 33. Provides spacers for electrical panels. 34. Remove exposed wiring or protect in an approved conduit. 35. Provide a 30 inch clear space to and in front of an electrical panel. 36. Maintain wiring in good condition and protect from damage. Flammable Liquids and Compressed Gases 37. Liquid Storage for maintenance purposes greater than 10 gallons must be in an approved cabinet. 38. Reduce quantities of flammable/combustible liquids. 39.Store flammable liquids away from exits,stairs and/or corridors. 40. Provide proper emergency disconnect for fuel dispensers within 100'. 41. Replace lids on all flammable liquid storage containers not in immediate use. 42. Remove all fueled vehicles from dwelling units. 43.Secure compressed gas cylinders. Identify product name. Storage and Housekeeping 44.Arrange storage in an orderly manner to provide access/egress. 45. Remove combustible storage from boiler, mechanical and electrical rooms. 46. Reduce storage to 24"below ceiling or 18"below sprinkler head. 47. Provide metal or approved non-combustible trash containers with lid. 48. Remove lint/debris from behind washers and dryers. 49. Remove waste/rubbish materials from the premises. 50. Keep dumpsters 5'away from combustible walls,eaves or openings. 51. Provide clearance between building and combustible vegetation. Detailed Explanation Confirm that each dwelling unit has one fire extinguisher with a minimum 1A:10 BC rating. If not you may opt to mount a 2A:10BC on the exterior of the building,spaced so that the travel distance to an extinguisher does exceed 75'.Extinguishers shall be mounted in a conspicuous place,easily accessible and readily available,and shall be along normal paths of travel. Extinguishers shall be mounted so that the top of the extinguisher is no higher than five feet above finished floor.Where extinguishers may be subject to physical damage or weather,they shall be adequately protected. Complete and return smoke and carbon monoxide alarm declaration. Remove brush pile and provide vegetative clearance to building at rear of property. See photo.
