CAO Update
Hello fellow Butte County employees!
The weather is warming up, COVID case rates are
going down, and life is beginning to look a little
more familiar…as I think of these things, one word
comes to mind: Gratitude. We have been through a
lot, but there is light at the end of the tunnel, and
we are getting closer. Together, we are overcoming
yet another disaster….this time a pandemic. I hope
you take a moment to feel a sense of
accomplishment, and hopefully gratitude… it took
all of us working together to get to where we are. I
thank each of you for your part in the
improvements. Please take time to read the Butte

recognizing May 2-7, 2021 as Public Service
Recognition Week. Your dedication, and the vital
contributions you make on a daily basis, do not go
unnoticed. I want to extend my deepest gratitude to
every one of you, for all that you do.

CAL FIRE/Butte County Fire Headquarters
CAL FIRE/Butte County Fire Department has moved into its new, state-of-the-art
headquarters at 176 Nelson Avenue in Oroville. The facility replaces a nearly 70-year old
compound and will allow the department to consolidate many of its operations onto
one site.
Stay tuned for a ribbon cutting announcement at a later date.
