TherearealsoHomeless,HousingAdvocacyandPreventionProgram(HHAP)fundsthatmaybeabletohire severaloutreachworkerstoassistthecampersinaccessingotherservices.Thisfundingwouldneedtobe awardedbytheCoCCouncilforthisparticularserviceafteraRequestforProposalshasbeenrunandthe subsequentselectionprocessfollowsthrough.Thiscouldeasilybe90-120daysout.Thereisnoguaranteefor fundingandthereareseveralotherprojectslookingatthesefundsaswell(forexample,CHATwillmost likelyapplyforfundsforEverhartVillageetc).ThesefundscanbeuseduntilJune2025sotheywillbe competitivebecauseoftheirlongevity.Forthecampgroundtheyarelimitedinthetypeofservicesyoumight get.Asmentioned,thepossibleuseofthehygienetrailers,somecounselorsforoutreachservices,port-a- potties,handwashingstationsandpotablewater. Now,ifthesanctionedsheltersite(noticechangeofvocabulary)issetupwithPalletShelterstheStatehas alreadyinformedmetheywouldallowHHAPfundstobeusedforshelteroperations.Thisallowsforthe hiringofon-sitestaff,security,meals,port-a-potties,handwashingstations,andotheressentialservices associatedwithashelter.TheStatedidsaythiswouldbesupportedgiventheunitswerePalletShelterunits becauseIspecificallyaskedthemaboutthoseunits.Theunitswouldhavetobemorethanabasicunitand includeenvironmentalcontrols(ie.heatandair).Ididnotinquireaboutothermicro-shelteralternativesso we’dhavetorunthispasttheStategrantmanagementteam.Wewouldalsoneedthistobefundedbythe sameHHAPfundsthatothersarelookingforanditwouldhavetogothroughthesamepreviouslymentioned competitiveprocess.Ifawardedthough,itisamoreservicerichintervention.
