HomeMy WebLinkAbout21-055Resolution, No. 21-055 RESOLUTION TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT BOATING SAFETY AND ENFORCEMENT FINANCIAL AID PROGRAM FUNDING FROM THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION, DIVISION OF BOATING 4. WHEREAS, funding from the Boating Safety and Enforcement Financial Aid Program helps support the provision of necessary law enforcement services on the waterways of Butte County;and WHEREAS, Harbors and Navigation Code Section 663.7(e)and California Code nfRegulations Section 6593.4 together require that certain assurances be provided as a cond,ition of receiving such financial aid; and WHEREAS, the Butte County Sheriff, or his designee, is hereby authorized and directed on behalf of the County of Butte, a political subdivision of the State of California, to submit an application to the California Department of Parks and Recreation, Division of Boating and Waterways for the Boating Safety and Enforcement Financial Aid Program for Fiscal Year 2021-22, and accept, funding in the anticipated amount of $159,342, aind to have signature authority on all program -related documents, and to do and perform everything necessary for the purpose ofthe Resolution; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the County is authorized to participate in the Fiscal Year 2831- 2O22 Boating Safety and Enforcement Financial Aid Program, that the County shall expend for boating safety programs during the year not less than an amount equal to 10096 of the amount received by the County from personal property taxes on vessels, and that the County Auditor is authorized to certify the amount ofprior year vessel taxes received by the County.
