FROM THE BUTTE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
WHEREAS, after 26 years of dedicated public service, Deputy Brendon, McDougal will be retiring on May 14, 2021,
During his career, his service to the citizens of Butte County and the Butte County Sheriff's Office has been exemplary; and
WHEREAS, Deputy McDougal began his law enforcement career in 1995 when hired by the Butte County Sheriffs
Office as a Deputy Sheriff and worked on patrol throughout the County and has performed special assignments such as
Rangemaster and firearms armorer for the past 15 years; and
WHEREAS, Deputy McDougal served as the Sheriff's Office DARE officer for three years, teaching the program at
eight elementary schools in Butte County before transitioning to become the School Resource Officer at Las Plumas High
School for three school years; and
WHEREAS, Deputy McDougal has served in the Court Security unit for the past 16 years, serving as the court
Officer in Charge for the last 10 years, assisting the Sergeants with scheduling and supervising Deputies and Court Security
Officers; and
WHEREAS, for the reasons stated above and for many more, Deputy McDougal embodies the characteristics of a
superb Deputy Sheriff, an exemplary law enforcement officer and great citizen of Butte County; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors hereby express their deep
appreciation for the exemplary service and unselfish dedication of Brendon McDougal during his career with Butte County
Sheriff's Office.
