Today, we get to celebrate being one step closer to the light at the end of the tunnel, as life is continuing to look more and more familiar. Today, Butte County is implementing California’s new face covering guidance, which states that fully vaccinated individuals are no longer required to wear masks, in most settings. California’s face covering Q&A has additional information that you may find useful. This is a milestone worth celebrating in our ongoing navigation of the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s also important to remember that we are all experiencing this pandemic differently; some may be happy to hear the news that certain restrictions are being lifted, while others may feel a sense of anxiety. Be kind to each other, this process will take time. Attached to this email are two documents: an updated mask policy, as well as an attestation document. Please take a moment to review both documents. The attestation documentation process will be handled at a supervisory level, you should be hearing from your supervisor soon. As we usher in this new phase, let’s be patient with each other and respect each other’s feelings. If you have any questions about the attestation, please reach out to your supervisor. Thank you for your ongoing efforts to work together and to keep each other safe as we continue to move forward. Sincerely, Andy Pickett Mask Policy 6-15-21 The State of California has updated its mask use guidelines. Without this attestation employees will be required to wear masks any place outside their own personal work space. The attestation does not require proof of vaccine at this time. Employees who are not fully vaccinated, or who do not disclose their vaccination status, and state they cannot wear masks must be referred to the Human Resources Department to explore accommodations.
