I have drafted some talking points re: the Chico Resting Site. I have not fielded any calls from the
media yet, but if I am asked to comment, my response would be based on this.

Talking Points: Butte County-Cityof Chico Partnership to
Assist Those Experiencing Homelessness
We remain fully committed to our partnership with the City of Chico in
identifying solutions to address homelessness in our communities.
We have authority from the Board of Supervisors to work with the City of
Chico in identifying actions which assist those currently experiencing
homelessness, that incorporate the following:
o A safe and climate appropriate place to sleep
o Sanitation- including showers, restrooms and, if possible, laundry
facilities
o Waste Management Services
o Onsite Management
o An appropriate location which lends itself to Behavioral Health and
Social Services employees and their ability to provide necessary
services to those in need
Our end goal is to identify actions which help those experiencing
homelessness rejoin society in a productive manner
