Good Morning,
Yesterday afternoon a fire started on the Lassen National Forest just east of Philbrook Res. called the Sky Fire. The USFS is in command of the incident. The fire is estimated to be
70-100 acres and all within Butte County. Yesterday, we were very concerned about the cabins around the lake so we provided a large number of resources to assist with
suppression (10 engine, 6 dozers and 3 crews, 3 aircraft). Firefighters made good progress through the night and control lines have been completed around the entire fire.
Currently, there is no threat to the structures around the lake. If firefighters can make it through today with no further spread, confidence is high the fire will be contained fairly
quick. I will provide additional updates should the situation change. The red dot below is the location of the fire.
