The Colusa Groundwater Authority (CGA) and the Glenn Groundwater Authority (GGA) are hosting public meetings to discuss draft Chapters 5 and 6 of the Colusa Subbasin Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP) which is scheduled for public review release on July 16, 2021. These chapters focus on groundwater sustainability conditions (goals and thresholds) in the Colusa Subbasin, and potential projects and actions the CGA and GGA might pursue in the future to enhance and maintain sustainable groundwater resources. We are pleased to host in-person and virtual meeting options to ensure accessibility for everyone to stay informed and provide input on this important topic. The virtual meeting will stream on Zoom and Facebook Live on July 28th and the in-person meeting will take place on July 29th. Both meetings will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will contain the same information. Attached is a press release and flyer describing the intent and content of these meetings. Against the backdrop of the critical drought, these meetings will engage the public about futuregroundwater management to improve long range local sustainable conditions. Under SGMA, the CGA and GGAare required to prepare aGroundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP) for the Colusa Subbasin. DraftChapters 5and 6 of the GSP discuss sustainability conditions and potential projects and actions that might be pursued by the Agencies. These chapters will bereleased on July 16and the Agencies seekpublic feedbackon these important topics.Agency representativeswillprovide an overview ofthe information in these chapters and will outline methods to providefeedbackin the near future.The meetings will also include areview of previously released draft chapters and adiscussion ofnext steps in the GSP completionprocess.
