Board Members,
When we proclaim a local emergency we automatically ask the State for reimbursement of costs
from the California Disaster Assistance Act (CDAA), as well as a request for a federal declaration. This
is what we did with the Drought Proclamation. Upon further discussion with the State, since we have
not yet expended funds on drought response, they have requested that we pull back our request for
funding until such time as we have actual expenditures.
I will be sending a letter to the State doing so. The drought proclamation remains in force, but the
funding request will come at a later date.
