Good morning Board – quick update from the EOC this morning.
We continue to operate the EOC virtually. Both human and animal shelters remain closed. EOC staff
remain on standby. We will be moving the briefings from CalFIRE to every other day (slated for
Friday and Monday at this point), and ready to elevate the EOC if conditions were to worsen.
The fire currently sits at approximately 217,500K acres, 23% contained…with about 12K acres in
Butte County. The controlled burning efforts, while limited yesterday due to the rain, have been
successful. The northern portion of the burn area near Lake Almanor is complete – and they are
making their way around to the Butte Meadows region.
Paula Daneluk will be covering as EOC Director until Monday. We will certainly keep you all
informed if there are any new developments.
