TheButteCountycodeofordinanceschapter8,(a)states “Thattheboardofsupervisorscanproclaimtheexistenceor threatenedexistenceofa"localemergency"andthetermination thereof.” OnJuly11th,2021,GovernorNewsomrescindedsection2): ExecutiveOrderN-60-20,issuedonMay4,2020,theBlueprintfora SaferEconomy. HecontinuedtoreaffirmtheCountiesauthority&powertoopenits county&terminatetheLocalEmergenciesOrderinsection4): NothinginthisOrdershallbeconstruedtolimittheexistingauthority oflocalhealthofficerstoestablishandimplementpublichealth measureswithintheirrespectivejurisdictions... Letitbeknown,thatButteCountyBoardofSupervisorshasalways hadthelegislativepower,theadministrativeresponsibility&the executiveauthoritytodeclare&terminatetheseLocalEmergencies. Manyofushavesentyouseveralrequestlettersalongwitha ResolutionlettertotheBoardtouseitspowerappropriately&serve thepeoplebyterminatingtheseemergencies. ChairmanConnellyyoustatedonFacebookthattheschoolsareran bytheschoolboard&nottheButteCountyBoardofSupervisors. Butmanycountieshaveassistedtheirschoolsinhelpingthemhave maskchoiceforthekids.LikePlacerCounty.Notonlyhasit terminatedtheLocalHealthEmergencybuttheyapproveda Resolutiontohelpparentalrightsfortheirchildren’shealthwith CovidVaccinations&schoolauthority. “BeitfurtherresolvedthatthePlacerCountyBoardofSupervisors willseekouttheassistanceofany&allgovernmentagencies involvedinthedecisionsregardingsafetyprotocolsintheschools, specificallyrequestingassistancetomakemasksoptional& relinquishingsafetyprotocoldecisionmakingpowertotheschool districtitself.” Theydidn’ttellthemtodirecttheircomments&complaintsto GovernorNewsom!Theyallsteppedup&ALLSUPERVISORS signedthisresolutiontoreturngoverningpowerstotheschool districts!TheBOARDOFSUPERVISORSMRCONNELLY! Shameonyoufornotsteppinguptohelpourkidswhentimeafter timewehaveaskedthisboardto. IamrequestingthatiftheBoardwillnotaddressthisissuetoday,that itputthisitemontheagendaofthenextBoardmeetingtodiscuss& voteon.AsourPublicServants,WethePeopledeservethisissueto beheardtoterminatetheemergenciesorders. ThereisnoreasonforButteCountytocontinuethisemergency order.COVIDisnotathreat!Numbersaredown,testinghasbeen proventobeinaccurate&thestatisticsbytheCDC’sownadmission havebeenInflated!Peoplehavehaditwiththisgovernment overreach.
