body of this letter must be addressed in writing prior to Fire Department Approval of your
project.
1. In lieu of an Automatic Fire Sprinkler system, your request to utilize an Alternate
Extinguishing System is granted. In addition to the Alternate Suppression system, an
Automatic Fire Alarm with smoke detection and manual pull stations will be required.
Please submit plans from a licensed C-10 Contractor.

emergency procedures whenever the dryer is in operation. Provide a copy of your facility
safety plan including procedures for fire emergencies involving nut processing
equipment.

conspicuous area for every 3000 square feet and the travel distance to a fire extinguisher
shall not exceed 75 feet. Extinguishers must be mounted on a bracket or in a cabinet with
the top not more than five feet above the floor. Extinguishers may be required to have a
sign mounted above in order to be visible from a distance.
4. Prior to building construction, provide an all-weather access of at least 10 feet wide for
residential, and 20 feet wide for commercial, and 15 feet vertical clearance that will allow
for ingress and egress and accommodate a 40,000-pound fire apparatus to within 150 feet
of all structures.

color background and posted at the street main entrance and on the main or first building
