The numbered comments listed below in the body of this letter must be addressed prior to Fire Department Final Inspection of your project. Your submitted plans show no means of egress. Please correct plans and resubmit to show location of exit doorway(s). Your project is located within the State Responsibility Area (SRA). Construction, installation or development of buildings and/or roads, driveways, gates and bridges on parcels/lots shall comply with the latest California Fire Safe Regulations—Public Resources Code 4290, 4291 and current Butte County Improvement Standards, whichever is stricter. Access: Prior to building construction, provide an all-weather access of at least 10 feet wide for residential, and 20 feet wide for commercial, and 15 feet vertical clearance that will allow for ingress and egress and accommodate a 40,000-pound fire apparatus to within 150 feet of all structures. Address and Building Identification: Ensure building and suites have appropriate building identification. Identification shall be placed in a position that is plainly visible from the street or road fronting property. Minimum 4" high and 0.5" stroke. Post address at the street main entrance and on the main or first building encountered. Ensure that other buildings on site are identified with same standard as address. Buildings can be numbered, lettered or named, but must be same label as staff on site uses. Extinguishers: Extinguishers in suites shall be 2A10BC. 1 extinguisher is required for every 3000 square feet and must be within 75' from any point. Extinguishers shall be mounted in a conspicuous place, easily accessible and readily available, and shall be along normal paths of travel. Extinguishers shall be mounted so that the top of the extinguisher is no higher than 5' above finished floor. Storage: Storage shall be maintained 2 feet or more below the ceiling in non sprinklered areas of buildings or a minimum of 18 inches below sprinkler deflectors in sprinklered areas of building. The Fire Prevention Bureau is currently open to the public from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
