Board Members,
We just finished our afternoon EOC briefing, and heard good news from CAL FIRE. The wind event
for tonight has been significantly downgraded. Initially it was believed we’d have 35 MPH winds in
the fire area, but now we’re expecting 4-8 MPH, especially in the Butte Meadows area, which is
about the same as a typical night. Therefore we don’t expect the kind of danger we were fearing
earlier in the day.
The EOC remains virtual and ready to gather physically if needed.
On a related note, we have been providing technical advice to Plumas for managing the event. With
last night’s destruction of Greenville, they can really use our expertise. We are in discussion with
them and will likely send individual(s) that have been involved in any of our various recovery efforts
to help them organize and develop a plan.
This is the last report of the day unless something changes. Also, this evening we are doing a shift
change at the EOC Director position and Brian will be on through the weekend.
