Good morning Board – quick update from the EOC this morning.
Significant fire growth last night…and expect more growth today (primarily in the northern and
eastern portions of the fire). Current approximate size is at 432K acres, 35% contained…
approximately 20K acres in Butte County.
The big concern for Butte yesterday was the western flank of the fire/towards Butte Meadows and
Philbrook. Still heat in the area – but lines held and look positive right now. Optimistic here - there
has been no new growth.
Now new evacuation orders are expected at this time - Concow will remain under a warning for now.
The EOC will remain active virtually…and will be monitoring the situation closely and ready to
respond should the need arise. Please let me know if you have any questions. Our next briefing is
scheduled for Sunday morning – and provided there are no significant changes impacting Butte, the
next update will be Sunday. Thanks.
