This is just an FYI, we have been notified that an individual positive for West Nile Virus (WNV)
recently passed away. This person was also positive for COVID. We do not yet have the death
certificate for the cause of death but appears to be death due to acute respiratory failure attributed
to WNV meningitis. This is not the first WNV death in California for 2021.
