Help Me Grow Butte Newsletter
Did you know that Help Me Grow Butte offers free developmental screening for
children under 5?Developmental screenings measure how a child learns,
speaks, moves, behaves, and relates. They can help identify children at risk for
developmental problems. Screenings don’t diagnose a child with a disability.
But, it may suggest the need for some further evaluation.
Early screening and detection gives children the best possible start in life.

or Spanish.

You can track your child's milestones by completing a free and confidential
screening through Help Me Grow today! Simply call 2-1-1 and select “2” for Help

School is right around the corner! Parents, do you know how to best prepare
your child for kindergarten?
Through PLAY!
Remember, children learn best through play – various types of play can help
prepare your child for kindergarten! All of the academic, social, and emotional
skills can be learned and developed through play.
Help Me Grow is offering another FREE developmental screening
opportunity for Butte County families! One of Help Me Grow's goals is to
ensure children ages 0-5 receive timely developmental screenings. If the
results indicate a concern, Help Me Grow can support a family in getting
connected to local services and resources.
Capture the QR code in the images above with your cell phone's camera
or call 211 and ask for Help Me Grow to be directed to start your child's
ASQ!
Each family that completes a developmental screening through Help Me
Grow Butte by Friday, September 17th will be entered in a drawing to win
prizes!

(Event 08/12) Growing Up Chico Night
Celebrating the 9th annual Growing Up Chico Night will be full of booths with
raffles, children's activities, giveaways, and more! Please join us for a night of
fun for the whole family in Downtown Chico!
This free family-friendly fair is put on by Growing Up Chico, a quarterly print and
online magazine which has been providing helpful information to Butte County
families for the past 17 years.
