Dear Board of Supervisors:
I’m not sure if you’re aware that the people in this County who have had enough of the never-ending covid health
emergency are not just the Trump-following conspiracy theorists you paint “them” to be. Stop labeling us as such
(Debra!): This labeling, segregation, and demonization is what has been at the beginning of all the most egregious
crimes against humanity. Check yourself. We are a community that has suffered greatly in recent years. To write off
over half of us as “nut jobs” is too much. Please, let’s be civil. We have a vaccine, those who want protection in that
way can get it, why do we need to keep this up any longer?
I’m a lifelong liberal Democrat (do those even exist anymore? Not so much since the corporatization of the
Democratic Party). I don’t know what I am now, how about just a good citizen concerned about what I see
happening around me with this pushing for more and more corporate/government control over our own bodies and
right to breathe? I have a Master’s degree and have been educated at top universities. What I do know is how to
think for myself, to take in information and come to my own conclusions and not just march to the beat of whatever
“my group” may believe to be true. It’s a sign of intellectual weakness and lack of moral character to resort to such
tactics. Instead, you might just want to consider that at least some of what we’re saying may be true. But I doubt that
some of you even have the ego-strength to consider that the perspectives of others that are different from your own
may have validity.
