We can make that both kids now. Just got word that my high school freshman has also been
exposed to COVID. At least he is vaccinated.
Rescinding the emergency proclamation regarding COVID while mostof Butte County
remains unvaccinated would be a stick in the eye to our children.

It has been brought to my attention that the Butte County Board of Supervisors will vote to
rescind the emergency proclamation regarding COVID at the September 14meeting.
I am a resident of Chico with two kids in public schools and I am urging you to please keep
this emergency proclamation in place. During the first week of school, one child has already
had a COVID encounter with a classmate.
With less than 42% of the county's population fully vaccinated and children under 12 still
unable to receive a vaccination, we should continue to follow the State of California's
COVID guidelines.
Chico has thousands of college students returning to the area from around the state and
CSU's vaccination reporting is essentially on the honor system.
Please be smart. Help keep us safe. Do not end the county's emergency proclamation
regarding COVID.
