Dear Board of Supervisors,
I respectfully ask that you NOT rescind the Emergency Declaration for Covid, as it is clear
that we are in the midst of an upsurge, not only in our county, but our state, and the
country, and the world.
It is impressive that so many businesses, schools, colleges, retail establishments and
government institutions in our country are requiring vaccinations and masks, in an attempt
to protect those who are, at this moment, too young to get vaccines. Surely our county
government can do no less. Right now, over 4400 children have developed a rare and
serious condition, in addition to Covid, and are in serious danger. Please review the CDC
as an important source of information as you learn about the dangers of the Delta variant.
I understand that we will also lose many opportunities from state and federal sources to
help mitigate what has happened to our towns and cities during the pandemic if we rescind
this designation.
Let us please stay as safe and smart as we can.
Sincerely,
Sally and Jim Boice
